How to use the image compressor

Which format should I choose?
- JPG works everywhere, including government portals, job applications and email. It’s the safe choice for photos.
- WebP makes the smallest files and is supported by modern browsers and most websites.
- PNG keeps every detail and supports transparency, but files are much larger. Use it for logos, screenshots and graphics with text.
What quality should I pick?
For photos, 70 to 80% usually looks the same as the original at a much smaller size. If a website limits uploads to a certain size, lower the quality step by step until the file fits. For even smaller files, reduce the dimensions first with the image resizer.
If an image is already well compressed, the tool keeps your original file rather than making it bigger.
