How to split a bill

  1. Enter the bill total from the receipt.
  2. Choose a tip: 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% or your own percentage.
  3. Set the number of people with − and +.
  4. Tick Round up to whole riyals if you’d rather everyone pays a round amount.

Examples

Bill Tip People Each pays
450 10% 4 123.75 (124 rounded up)
300 0% 3 100.00
820 15% 6 157.17 (158 rounded up)

When you round up, the extra collected, such as 1 riyal in the first example, can go towards the tip.

Need the VAT part of a total? Use the VAT calculator. Working out a discount? Try the percentage calculator.

Split the bill: common questions

How do I split a bill with a tip?

Add the tip to the bill, then divide by the number of people. For a 450 SAR bill with a 10% tip between 4 people: 450 + 45 = 495, and 495 ÷ 4 = 123.75 each.

Is tipping expected in Saudi Arabia?

It isn't required, but many people leave around 10% in restaurants for good service. Some bills already include a service charge, so check the receipt first.

Should I include VAT?

Use the final total on the receipt. Prices in Saudi Arabia usually include 15% VAT already.
