How to run a draw

  1. Choose A list of names or A range of numbers.
  2. Paste your names, one per line, or enter the lowest and highest numbers.
  3. Choose how many winners to pick, then tap Pick.

The names shuffle briefly on screen, then the winners appear. Tap Pick again for a new draw, or Copy results to share them.

Common uses

  • Giveaways and competitions on social media
  • Choosing who answers next in a classroom
  • Splitting people into teams or picking a presenter
  • Choosing a random number for a game or a raffle ticket

Why it’s fair

Each winner is chosen with the browser’s cryptographic random numbers, so no entry is more likely than another and results can’t be predicted. We tested it over 40,000 draws from four names: each name came up about 10,000 times.

For a big public giveaway, record your screen while you draw, so everyone can see the result was fair.

Random name picker: common questions

Is the draw really random?

Yes. It uses your browser's secure random number generator, the same kind used for passwords, and every entry has exactly the same chance.

Can the same name be picked twice?

Not in one draw. When you pick several winners, each is a different entry. Tick Remove duplicate names if someone appears twice in your list by mistake.

How many names can I add?

As many as you like. Paste a list with one name per line.

Are the names saved anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and nothing is stored or sent.
