Probation period calculator

Find the last day of your probation, adding the Eid holidays and sick days that don’t count, and the end date of a fixed-term contract.

Since the 2025 amendments, probation can be up to 180 days and must be written in the contract. Under Article 53, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha holidays and sick leave aren’t counted, so they push the end date back. Either side may end the contract during probation, unless the contract gives only one side that right.

How to use it

Choose your first day of work and the probation length in your contract, then add any Eid holiday days and sick days during probation. For a fixed-term contract, add its length to see when it ends.

Example

Starting on 1 October 2026 with 90 days of probation:

  • Without breaks, probation ends on 29 December 2026.
  • With 5 days of sick leave during it, it ends on 3 January 2027.
