How to convert a PDF to images

  1. Drop a PDF onto the box, or tap Choose PDF.
  2. Choose the image format and quality.
  3. Tap Convert to images. Each page appears as a preview.
  4. Download pages one by one, or tap Download all (ZIP).

JPG or PNG?

  • JPG makes smaller files and works well for scanned pages and photos.
  • PNG keeps text and lines perfectly sharp, but files are larger. Choose it for documents with small text, diagrams or charts.

Quality and DPI

DPI means dots per inch: how many pixels are used for each inch of the page. An A4 page at 150 DPI becomes an image of about 1240 × 1754 pixels, and at 300 DPI about 2480 × 3508 pixels.

Common uses

  • Sharing one page of a document on WhatsApp or social media
  • Adding PDF pages to a presentation or document
  • Uploading a page to a website that only accepts images

To go the other way, use Images to PDF. To combine several PDFs, use Merge PDF files.

PDF to images: common questions

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. The pages are converted in your browser, so your document never leaves your device.

Which quality should I choose?

Standard (150 DPI) suits sharing and viewing on screens. Choose Print (300 DPI) for printing or zooming in on small text, and Screen (96 DPI) for the smallest files.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Open it in a PDF app, enter the password, save a copy without protection, then convert that copy.

How do I open the ZIP file?

On Windows and Mac, double-click it. On iPhone, tap it in the Files app. On Android, open it in your Files app and tap Extract.
