About HEIC photos
iPhones save photos as HEIC by default to save space. Many government portals, job sites and Windows apps don’t open HEIC files. Converting them to JPG fixes this. The first HEIC photo takes a moment longer, because the decoder loads only when it’s needed.
A quality of 85–90% keeps photos looking the same while making files much smaller. To make them smaller still, use the image compressor, and to change their size, the image resizer.
