Household budget planner: common questions

What is the 50/30/20 rule?

A simple guide: about 50% of income on needs, 30% on wants and 20% on savings or paying off debt.

What counts as a need?

Things you must pay, such as rent, groceries, bills, transport and loan installments.

What if my rent is very high?

Then needs can take more than 50%. Try to protect savings first, and trim wants.
