The rules
- Government salaries: the 27th of each Gregorian month. If the 27th is a Friday, salaries are paid on the Thursday before; if it’s a Saturday, on the Sunday after.
- Citizen Account: around the 10th of each Gregorian month.
- Pensions (civil, military and social insurance): the 1st of each Gregorian month, since May 2024.
- Developed social security: the 1st of each Gregorian month.

* Falls on a Friday or Saturday, so the deposit may move by a day or two. Watch for the official announcement.
The October to December 2026 salary dates come from the Ministry of Finance’s published schedule. The 2027 dates are worked out from the same rule, because the Ministry publishes each year’s schedule separately. Payments are sometimes brought forward before an Eid by special announcement, as in May 2026, when salaries were paid on the 24th before Eid al-Adha.
Paydays to watch in 2027
- February 2027: salaries arrive on 21 Ramadan, in the last ten days of Ramadan and before Eid al-Fitr on 9 March.
- May 2027: salaries arrive on 27 May, after Eid al-Adha on 16 May, so plan Eid spending from the April salary (27 April).
- August and November 2027: the 27th falls on a Friday and a Saturday, so salaries come a day earlier (26 August) and a day later (28 November).
Private-sector salaries
Private companies set their own payday in the employment contract, often the 25th, 27th or the last working day of the month. Under the Saudi Labor Law, a monthly-paid worker must be paid at least once a month.
