Fasting hours
Ramadan 2027 falls in late winter, so the fasts are fairly short. In Riyadh, the first fast runs from Fajr at about 5:12 am to Maghrib at about 5:43 pm, around 12½ hours, rising to about 13 hours by the end of the month. Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah are similar. See every day’s Suhoor and Iftar times for your city in the Ramadan timetable 1448.
School and work
- Founding Day (22 February) falls on 15 Ramadan, with a school holiday on 21–22 February.
- The Eid al-Fitr school holiday begins at the end of school on Thursday 25 February 2027, and students return on Sunday 14 March. See the school calendar 1448.
- The February salary is due on Sunday 28 February (21 Ramadan), before Eid.
- Under the Saudi Labor Law, Muslim employees work shorter hours in Ramadan. Read working hours in Ramadan.
